Building Strong Families

Discover the journey of Family Ministries Foster Care and how our commitment to traditional values and servant leadership is transforming lives across the state.

Our Journey to Statewide Foster Care

Family Ministries Foster Care began its mission in 2017 as the Young Children's Home, created with the primary goal of providing homes for large sibling groups who had experienced abuse, abandonment, or neglect. It quickly became clear that the need for more homes was great, and we realized the incredible opportunity we had to help even more children and families.

By the end of 2020, Family Ministries Foster Care was born. Since then, we've been licensing, training, and supporting foster families, initially focusing on the seven counties closest to our campus: Logan, Scott, Yell, Sebastian, Crawford, Franklin, and Johnson. Today, we're excited to share that our recruitment efforts have expanded to encompass the entire state!

Rooted in Faith and Family Values

We follow Jesus' example of servant leadership in everything we do — from how we treat families to how we run our organization.

Built on Lasting Relationships

Once you become part of our family, you always will be. We walk alongside every family we serve long after licensing is complete.

Is Fostering Right for You?

Fostering is one of the most meaningful things a family can do. Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most.

What does the fostering journey look like from start to finish?
Arrow

From your first inquiry to a licensed home, we walk with you every step. You'll complete training, background screenings, and a home study — all at no cost to you. Most families are licensed within 60–90 days.

Do I need to have a lot of money or a big house?
Arrow

Not at all. Foster children are not required to have their own bedroom, and foster parents receive a daily reimbursement rate to help cover costs. Financial barriers are much lower than most people expect.

Can I choose what age of child I foster?
Arrow

Yes. During the licensing process we discuss your preferences and capacity so we can make the best possible match for your family.

What kind of support will I receive after I'm licensed?
Arrow

We provide ongoing check-ins, in-home services as needed, and on-call support around the clock. You are never on your own.
